A 66-year-old TV star had to intervene in a pub brawl after a man was punched and fell to the ground.
According to reports, Steve Buscemi did his best to intervene during a recent altercation. The Hollywood icon, known for his roles in popular shows like The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, as well as blockbuster films like Armageddon and Con Air, was in Dublin filming for the second season of Netflix's hit show Wednesday. While enjoying a meal at Bubba's Fish Market in nearby Dalkey, he found himself in the middle of a scuffle outside a local pub.

Eyewitness Oisín Heavey shared his account of the event, saying that Buscemi went largely unnoticed during the evening. "No one at my table recognized him except for me," Heavey admitted. "I'm a huge movie buff, so I knew him straight away. We were having dinner, and he was at the table beside us for 90 minutes." However, when a brawl broke out outside The Dalkey Duck, Buscemi - who will be playing the new headmaster of Nevermore Academy in Wednesday - jumped into action.

"We could see there were loads of people outside, kind of looking up towards where he had gone, so we assumed he was spotted," Heavey explained. "When we went outside, there was actually a very vicious fight going on, and that's what everybody was looking at." While he didn't physically break up the fight, Buscemi did try to help someone who had been knocked to the ground. "He was very close to it, but he held himself back from breaking it up," Heavey said. "He stood over the guy on the ground for a few seconds, and the fight naturally broke up after that."

Describing Buscemi as "very nice, friendly, and engaging," Heavey also mentioned the actor's recent injury. In May, Buscemi was violently punched in broad daylight while walking in Midtown Manhattan. His publicist released a statement saying that he was "ok" and appreciated everyone's well wishes, but was saddened by the random act of violence in the city. Born and raised in New York, Buscemi is no stranger to acts of violence, having been a former firefighter. He even returned to his old company, Engine 55, to assist with rescue efforts after the 9/11 terror attacks.

The Agency reached out to Buscemi's representatives for comment, but has not yet received a response.
