29-year-old wrestling star confined to bed for months due to severe back injury.
In a recent interview, All Elite Wrestling star Jamie Hayter opened up about her difficult journey of recovering from a horrific injury. As a professional wrestler, Jamie is no stranger to brutal injuries, but this particular one left her bedridden and in excruciating pain.

After losing the AEW Women's Title in a quick match against Toni Storm at AEW Double or Nothing in May 2023, Jamie was forced to take a break from the ring for 15 months. It wasn't until her return at AEW's All In London event on August 25 that she revealed the true extent of her injury - two herniated discs in her back.

"I was in pain constantly. It was not a fun injury," Jamie shared with AEW's Renee Paquette on Up Close. "I was bed-bound for months. I couldn't do anything. All I had was watching stuff on my phone, lying in bed, and reading some books."

Even simple tasks like scrolling through her phone or reading a book became difficult for Jamie, who initially thought she was dealing with sciatica. "I wasn't even aware of the injury until it was really bad. Until I couldn't walk. I couldn't even stand up straight. My body was at an angle. I couldn't laugh, sneeze, cough, sit down, stand in the shower, lay on my back," she explained.

Despite the pain, Jamie continued to push herself, going to the gym and even doing a skydive on her birthday. But eventually, the pain became too much and she realized the severity of her injury. "It would wake me up in the middle of the night. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy," she said.

During her long road to recovery, Jamie found herself questioning if she would ever be able to wrestle again. At times, her passion for the sport even waned and she considered retirement. "I think it was just the pain and everything that happened. I really wasn't sure. It's almost like I had to find myself again. Find my purpose and find my passion to do it again," she shared.

But as the pain started to subside and she could move again, Jamie's love for wrestling returned. "The first time I got back into a ring, I felt alive again," she said. And her triumphant return at Wembley Stadium during the Zero Hour preshow was proof of that. Stepping out to a huge roar from the crowd, Jamie laid out fellow British wrestler Saraya (known to WWE fans as Paige) and continued to dominate in her first official match since Double or Nothing 2023.

Despite the challenges she faced, Jamie never gave up and was able to come back stronger than ever. Her story is a testament to her resilience and determination. AEW Dynamite continues to air live Wednesday nights at 1am on TrillerTV. If you have a celebrity story, video, or pictures, feel free to reach out to the team at The Agency.
