As the summer days come to an end, and the cool crisp air of fall approaches, many of us are looking forward to some good ole reading pleasure surrounded by the beauty of nature. And what better way to enjoy reading than with a good story, a cozy blanket, and your favorite refreshment? The New Brownies Book, inspired by W. E. B. Dubois, is a love letter to Black families, but more specifically Black children. Dubois released the original Brownies Book over a century ago in 1920. The New Brownies Book will release in October and includes works by Langston Hughes, Ntozake Shange, Alfred Conteh—and again, BLACK ENTERPRISE’s own Ida Harris.
