15-year-old driver crashes into Brisbane vape shop, captured on video.
Early this morning, a shocking incident occurred on a bustling street in Brisbane. A 15-year-old boy was allegedly driving his mother's SUV when he crashed into a nearby vape shop. It happened around 5:15 am in Mount Gravatt East, in the southern part of the city. The car was reportedly speeding down the road before it abruptly smashed into the front of Pay 'n' Go tobacco store.

Exclusive footage captured by 9News reveals the unlicensed teenager stepping out of the Hyundai after the collision. According to worker Janelle, who was visibly upset, the incident was quite terrifying. "We are devastated by what happened this morning," she told 9News. Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash, as confirmed by Queensland Police Sergeant Simon Mortimer. "We are lucky that no one was hurt in this incident," he stated.

The cause of the crash, according to Mortimer, was likely due to the driver's young age and lack of driving experience. After the accident, the teenager was taken to the children's hospital for a medical assessment and a routine drug and alcohol test. Following questioning by the police, he was allowed to return home.

The driver has been charged with several offenses, including wilful damage, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and driving without a license. He is scheduled to appear in court in January. It should be noted that the earlier version of this story mistakenly stated that there were two passengers in the car. However, it was later clarified that they were bystanders who offered assistance.
