Arindam Ganguly, OP, addressed the batch of 2024 during the 20th annual convocation of KIIT Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar. Governor Raghubar Das praised the youth for their innovative ideas and for creating opportunities for thousands of individuals. The virtual convocation address was delivered by Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Nobel Peace Laureate from Ukraine. She expressed her admiration for KIIT, stating that it has become one of the most distinguished institutions in India and globally in a short period. On this occasion, KIIT-DU conferred Honoris Causa DSc and DLitt degrees on four remarkable individuals from diverse backgrounds. These included D Nageshwar Reddy, Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, Kishor Patil, and Ashirbad Behera, who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.

A total of 7,283 students were awarded degrees at the convocation, including 5,455 Bachelors, 1,597 Masters, and 186 PhDs. The founder of KIIT and KISS, Achyuta Samanta, congratulated the students and encouraged them to take risks, learn from failures, and rise above challenges. He emphasized the importance of three I's - Idea, Innovation, and Impact - in shaping their future and the world around them.

In his presidential address, Ashok Kumar Parija, the Chancellor of KIIT-DU, praised the institute's remarkable journey from its humble beginnings to being recognized as one of the country's leading institutions. He credited this transformation to the vision, hard work, and unwavering dedication of Samanta, along with the tireless efforts of the faculty and staff.

The convocation also saw the awarding of medals to 59 students for their outstanding academic performances. Three students received Founder's Gold Medals for their exceptional all-round and academic performances, while 26 students were awarded Chancellor's Gold Medals, and 27 received Vice Chancellor's Silver Medals. The Nanibala Memorial Gold Medal, PK Bal Memorial Gold Medal, and PPL Gold Medal were also presented to deserving students.
