Yaduveer visits Madikeri Dasara temples
Madikeri, Sep. 18: Kodagu-Mysore MP Yaduveer Wodeyar visited the Omkareshwara Sanndhi, including the Das temple, where the Dasara background pavilion is being made, and held talks with the committee office bearers.
First, he visited the Koti Sri Mahaganapathi temple and participated in a special puja. Yaduveer Wodeyar went to the Kundurumotte Sri Chauti Mariyamma temple, Dechur Sri Ramamandir, Pete Sri Rama Mandir, Karavale Bhagavathy, Kote Mariyamma, Dandina Mariyamma, Kodandarama, Kanchikamakshi, and Chowdeshwari temples and participated in the puja there as well. The MP was felicitated by the committee leaders during the visit.
Speaking to reporters on this occasion, Yaduveer said that after the start of Dasara, he visited the temple of the Dashamantapa committees and prayed that the celebrations would go smoothly.
Use of loudspeakers - Appeal to relax the rules
The Dashamantapa committee leaders submitted a letter of appeal to Yuduveer Wodeyar on this occasion to take steps not to obstruct the use of loudspeakers during the Dashamantapa procession.
The committee has been working day and night to prepare the pavilion for the last 4 months. They are also taking precautions to ensure that no untoward incident takes place. The police have imposed strict rules on the use of loudspeakers, which has been a problem for the committees, and they have requested for relaxation of the rules.
Request for grants
The committees build pavilions by spending lakhs of rupees. The committee also requested personal financial assistance in this regard.
Each pavilion costs an estimated Rs. 25 to 30 lakhs. So he drew attention to the need for financial assistance.
Worship at Omkareshwar
Yaduveer Wodeyar also went to the Sri Omkareshwar temple in the city and participated in a special worship.
Omkareshwar Temple Management Committee President Chummi Devaiah welcomed Yaduveer.
During the visit, Madikeri Nagar Dasara Committee President Kalavathi, Working President B.K. Arun Kumar, General Secretary Mahesh Jaini, Treasurer Sabita, Dashmantapa Committee President Harish Anvekar, BJP District President Napanda Ravi Kalappa, Former Legislative Council Member M.P. Sunil Subramani, Municipal Council members Savita Rakesh, Umesh Subramani, prominent Paleyanda Robin Devaiah, B.K. Jagadish, Kavan Cariappa and others were present.
