In a recent interview, WWE superstar Nia Jax opened up about her body transformation and weight loss journey, revealing that fellow wrestler Charlotte Flair played a major role in inspiring her to make a change.
Nia, who is the current Women's World Champion and SmackDown main eventer, will also be joining the WWE 2K24 roster on September 18 as part of the Global Superstar DLC pack. Fans were stunned last year when she showed off the results of her fitness regime, and Nia credits Charlotte for being a positive influence and supportive friend during her journey.
"Charlotte Flair is this larger than life character on screen, but at home she's just a sweetheart," Nia shared in an exclusive interview with The Agency. "I went to her after her wedding and told her how I was feeling - I didn't feel comfortable in my skin. She was nothing but positive and encouraged me, had my back, and pushed me when I needed it."
Nia initially revealed her weight loss of over three stone last summer, but has yet to disclose her total weight loss. "It's quite a lot," she admitted, also mentioning that she and Charlotte could potentially face off once again when the Queen makes her highly anticipated return to the ring. Despite their on-screen rivalry, Nia had nothing but positive things to say about Charlotte as a person.
The 40-year-old champion also spoke about the strong bond among the WWE locker room, filled with great veterans and lifelong friendships. She also shared her excitement about working with up-and-coming star Tiffany Stratton, who currently holds the Money In The Bank contract, and the dynamic duo Pretty Deadly.
"I've always been a fan of them, and for me to be able to share the ring with them and share the screen with them is so much fun," Nia said. "Nia Jax is known as this big mean monster, but they bring out my fun side and it's really cool to see where we can go with that."
Nia also reflected on her return to WWE a year ago and credited boss Triple H for helping her reach her full potential and show the world what she's capable of. "He's highlighting the women's division in such a great way that it's not just me having a great year," she explained. "I feel like there are plenty of women that are having a great year, and I'm at the top of that as the queen and the champ."
In addition to her success in the ring, Nia will also be featured in the upcoming WWE 2K24 game as part of the Global Superstars pack, alongside current stars like Jade Cargill, Lyra Valkyria, Carlito, and Dragon Lee, as well as legend Michelle McCool. Nia expressed her excitement about being included in such a stacked lineup of wrestlers.
As fans eagerly await the launch of WWE 2K24, they can continue to follow Nia's journey in the ring and see her shine as Women's World Champion. It's clear that with the support of her fellow wrestlers and her own determination, Nia is thriving and feeling more confident in her own skin than ever before.
