Writer reflects on the
Daran Little, former Coronation Street writer, recently reflected on the death of iconic character Alf Roberts in a social media post, 25 years on from Alf's final scenes. Daran described the situation as 'horrible', as actor Bryan Mosley, who played Alf, didn't want to leave the show.

Daran recalled how he comforted Barbara Knox, who has played Rita Sullivan since 1972, who was tearful during the filming of the sad scenes. He then went on to describe Bryan as a 'wonderful man of God, a terrific friend, kind and generous and forever in my heart'.

Alf Roberts was a staple character on the cobbles between 1961 and 1999, and Bryan sadly passed away just months after his character's death. Daran has a long history of writing for soaps, and is currently one of the writers on BBC soap EastEnders.

He took to Twitter to explain how working with Peter Kay was both the hardest day of his writing career, as well as his best. Daran had to ensure that the comedian followed the script, and he revealed that he is a 'genius'.

Fans of Daran and soaps in general are eager to hear more stories from the writer. Whether it be about his time on Coronation Street or his current role at EastEnders, we can't wait to hear what else Daran will reveal!
