Woody McClain has signed a publishing deal with Godhood Comics, owned by Black people, for a comic series called ‘The Brotherhood’.
Woody McClain has made quite the power move after signing a publishing deal with Godhood Comics, a Black-owned comic book publisher, for his newly created comic book series, The Brotherhood. It will be written by DC Comics Milestone Initiative breakout writer Dorado Quick, and edited by Nicholas Maye, the producer of the Oscar-winning short film Two Distant Strangers.

The actor, who currently stars as Cane Tejada in the Starz network series Power Book II: Ghost, was full of enthusiasm and pride for the upcoming project when he said “I’m excited to work with Godhood Comics and bring The Brotherhood to life. It’s an honor to work on a project that showcases the strength and resilience of the Black community. I can’t wait for readers to see what we have in store.”

The artwork for the comic book series is slated to be done by llustrabox Studio, and the storyline is of a young man who accidentally finds himself involved in a secret organization of Black men. This organization has been protecting and helping Black Americans for generations. It has been widely described as The Kingsman meets James Bond and is sure to be an action-packed spy thriller.

Godhood Comics Founder Tyler F. Martin was just as ecstatic about the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with Woody McClain on The Brotherhood. His passion for storytelling and commitment to uplifting Black voices once again proves his dedication to the betterment of Black creatives. We can’t wait to share this series with the world.”

With no official date revealed yet, The Brotherhood is scheduled to be released by the end of 2023. This is sure to be an exciting project for McClain, who is an HBCU alumnus of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, and has played Bobby Brown in the BET docuseries “The New Edition Story” and “The Bobby Brown Story.”

It’s going to be an honor to have Woody McClain’s comic book series, The Brotherhood, out in the world. It’s sure to be a success, and a great way to showcase the strength and resilience of the Black community. We can’t wait to see what this project will bring!
