Woman caught with excessive alcohol in car while driving to pick up children.
A 43-year-old woman in Sydney's north-west was recently charged with high-range drink driving while on her way to pick up her children from school. According to police, the incident occurred around 12:25pm on Monday when a silver Toyota Camry almost collided with a police car in Baulkham Hills. The officers immediately stopped the driver and suspected that she was under the influence of alcohol.

After a breath test was conducted, it became apparent to the officers that the woman was indeed intoxicated. In fact, she registered a blood alcohol level over seven times the legal limit, which is a staggering .371. This level of intoxication is known to render a person unconscious, making it extremely dangerous to operate a vehicle. The woman was then arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police Station for further testing.

Upon breath analysis, she returned a reading of 0.269g of alcohol per 210 litres of breath. As a result, her license was immediately suspended and she was charged with high range drink driving. In addition, the police also confiscated her car keys and reported the incident to Family and Community Services.

The woman is set to face court in October for the drink driving charge. In the meantime, police are reminding the public to always drink responsibly and never get behind the wheel while under the influence. They also urge anyone who witnesses dangerous driving to report it immediately.
