Woman arrested for allegedly abducting a child in an effort to find her missing mother and two children.
Jamie-Leigh Kelly, 31, has been missing since Tuesday when she left a centre for vulnerable mothers and children with her three-year-old daughter and newborn son. The children are under care protection orders and had been removed from the centre against the wishes of staff. Jamie-Leigh got into a blue Ford Fiesta with the children and drove away at speed, reportedly being driven by a woman.

Following Jamie-Leigh's disappearance, police have made significant progress in their investigation. They have located the car and a 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction. Additionally, a man in his 50s was arrested on Wednesday for the same charge and conspiracy to kidnap. Both remain in police custody.

Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, who is leading the investigation, is appealing directly to Jamie-Leigh to get in touch with the police. He urges her to put her newborn son's needs first, as he may need medical care, and to contact them on 020 7175 0793.

Jamie-Leigh's sister, Rebecca Kelly, has also pleaded with her to come home. She said that Jamie-Leigh is a 'brilliant mum' who has not had the support or help she needs. She added that she knows Jamie-Leigh is scared, but that she would never hurt her children and that she is not alone.

Jamie-Leigh is described as white with green eyes, of slim build and about 5ft 4ins tall. She was wearing a white jumper or long-sleeved t-shirt, white jogging trousers and white trainers. Police are asking anyone who has any information on Jamie-Leigh and her children to call the incident room or dial 999 with any real time sightings.
