Emmerdale actor William Ash recently shared his admiration for his cousin Peter Ash who plays Paul Foreman in Coronation Street. Peter is currently at the centre of a heartbreaking storyline which sees Paul diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease which will shorten his life.
Recently, Paul and Billy tied the knot in the Bistro, after Paul thought he had found a loophole to get around the unfair rule that same-sex couples could not legally be married in a church. The couple then headed over and got married again, with Billy tearful over his dream coming true.
William was full of praise for Peter, saying "I saw a bit of it the other day and he’s brilliant, isn’t he? It’s so good, what he’s doing. He was just fantastic. I saw the episode where he got the wheelchair and he was just brilliant. That scene in the pub. I don’t watch much telly but I was round at my mum’s and we watched it together. He’s been fantastic. It’s a shame, actually, that he’s going to have to eventually leave because he’s been brilliant in it. And he’s a top lad".
William's character Caleb Milligan is currently involved in a dramatic plot with Cain and a returning Aaron Dingle. Cain and Caleb found Aaron and brought him back to the Dales. William said "Caleb and Aaron really brush up against each other in a bad way. Caleb's also now got what was his house as well. There’s a lot of conflict there. And Caleb is quite protective of Chas and seeing how Aaron behaves towards her, Caleb takes an immediate dislike to him. I think he says something along the lines of “You don’t want me as your enemy.” I think Caleb’s quite happy for him to be like that, but he’ll have a problem with Caleb if he carries on…”
The storyline continues, with both Coronation Street and Emmerdale bringing viewers thrilling and emotional storylines. We can only wait and see what will happen next in the two soaps.
