On Tuesday, June 20th, a Black woman in northeast Harris County experienced a terrifying road rage encounter with a white male. At a red light, the man behind her started honking once the light turned green, and when the woman honked back, the suspect, identified as Kevin Roth, 30, pointed his gun at her.
The woman, in fear for her life, sped off to a gas station and convenience store in an attempt to find safety. Unfortunately, Roth followed her and continued to threaten her with his firearm. He could have shot me. He was aiming a gun. I could tell he was kind of scared himself. He was shaking his hand. That's why I was scared. I'm scared because you're scared. He could have done anything to me just out of fear."
Fortunately, the police arrived within 10 minutes and took Roth's gun away. He has since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The victim, relieved that the situation was over, said, "My heart was just racing. When the police got there, I was just like in tears."
