Kushalnagar, Jul. 13: A welcome day program was held for the first PUC students at Vivekananda Pre-University College, Kushalnagar.

As the chief guest, Dr. M. Chethan, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics and Electronics, Jain University, Bangalore, spoke and said that students should keep a goal in life and engage in the mainstream of society. He advised them to use mobile phones only for positive and good purposes.

Referring to Swami Vivekananda's motto, he called for identifying the talents embedded in the students and making them into a form of penance. On this occasion, the oath-taking program of the students' union was held.

Students who secured good ranks in the last academic year were honored. The program was presided over by the institution's president, N.N. Shambuli Gappa and he expressed his wish that the students should bring fame to their parents and the institution they have learned by getting good education. The college principal, Clara Reshma, welcomed the gathering. Later, the students participated in a colorful cultural program.
