Sports Events Strengthen Team Spirit and Camaraderie

Madikeri, Oct. 12: Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda remarked that sports events play a vital role in fostering camaraderie among journalists and strengthening their organizational unity.

The trophy unveiling ceremony for the state-level journalists' cricket tournament—organized by the Kodagu District Working Journalists' Association in collaboration with the Karnataka Working Journalists' Association and scheduled for November 2 and 3 in Madikeri—was held at the Evolve Back Resort in Karadigodu, near Siddapura. Speaking after unveiling the trophy, MLA Mantar Gowda commended the initiative to bring journalists together through sports. He noted that organizing a state-level cricket tournament for journalists is no easy task. Kodagu district is renowned for its hospitality and impeccable event organization; he urged journalists from across the state to visit in large numbers to experience Kodagu's hospitality and emphasized the need to organize the tournament in an exemplary manner.

The journalism profession is fraught with challenges, and journalists face numerous difficulties in their personal lives as well. They are the ones who guide politicians and caution them to stay on the right path. Politicians should accept press reports positively and correct their mistakes. He stated that it is possible to bring about change in the system through press reports.
