A wanted individual who had eluded police for six weeks was apprehended after ordering Uber Eats with his real name to a Perth address, thus alerting detectives.

Mate Stipinovich is the third person to be arrested in a probe that began with the rescue of three men clinging to an esky in the sea off Western Australia last month.

Authorities declared Stipinovich was located in a "secret compartment" beneath a spa on the back patio, with a loaded gun in a bag beside him at a home in Byford.

The police allege they discovered 365kg of cocaine on the submerged vessel which the three rescued men had been on, prompting a search for answers.

The Australian Federal Police made a surprise entry into the house in Perth's south during the night, with an ambulance and negotiator on standby.

Tactical officers broke through a window to get inside the property.

"We heard a voice from the police saying to stay inside the house," one witness said.

"We weren't sure what was going on and we checked the cameras and there were three Territory Response Group guys in our backyard."
