Vanessa Feltz has opened up about the deep emotional wounds she has been left with after her split from Ben Ofoedu after 17 years together. The 61-year-old TV presenter revealed the huge change the break-up has had on her life.
“As everyone knows, I had a very bad and broken heart and it was horrible. People think I've been amazingly brave, but really on the inside, I just feel as awful as anybody else would. I've been so hurt, crushed and dismayed and worried about the future,” said Vanessa.
Vanessa is now looking for love on Celebs Go Dating, alongside the likes of Love Island star Chloe Burrows. Despite the daunting prospect of putting herself out there again, the mum-of-two remains determined to find 'the one'.
“I will continue to believe that there are good people out there who mean what they say and say what they mean. I hope I'm not naïve and stupid by being optimistic. I don't like being single but I'm putting myself on the path of rejection, when I already feel very damaged and wounded,” she explained.
On her way to her first date, Vanessa shared her nerves and excitement with her followers. “Oh em ge. Going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating. I haven’t been on a date for 17 years so just imagine how I’m feeling. I can’t even find the words to describe it and I’m good at words, so I don’t know. But that is where I’m going this morning and I’m wishing you all a lovely, lovely Friday.”
