The MOU will involve the setting up of 2 pumped storage projects of 1500 MW each in Almora. Chief Minister Dhami also expressed his desire to collaborate in other fields such as cement, sports, training centers, drinking water, restoration, and beautification of temples in Kumaon.
The two projects, located 8-10 km from the Kosi river in Joskote village and 16 km from the river in Kurchaun village, will provide irrigation and drinking water to a large population in the area. It is estimated that the project will provide employment to 1000 people.
