Madikeri, Oct. 31: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of India's first Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated Unity Day for the Unity of India.
Former Minister M.P. Appachchu Ranjan and prominent figures launched the yatra at the city's F.M.A. Cariappa Circle by releasing pigeons. Speaking later, Ranjan said that he had dreamed of uniting the divided Indian provinces and building a united India. For this, he had worked to unite all the then kings.
