November 23rd 2023.
Winter is fast approaching and those of us who have been holding out on central heating will be facing a new challenge. The UK is set to experience its first wintry showers, with sleet and snow expected and temperatures dropping to below freezing.
Aidan McGivern, a Meteorologist with the Met Office, told LBC that by the end of the week, cold winds will arrive from the north and it will start to feel colder. There will be snow showers over northern Scotland but, for the majority of the country, it will be mostly dry on Friday and into the weekend.
Although some areas may experience snow storms, it won't be as bad as expected and for most of us, it will be a dry, bright day. The showers that do fall will mostly be sleet and snow over the hills of northern Scotland, but for the vast majority it will be a crisp, bright autumn day. This is expected to continue into the weekend.
