Tyronn Lue tells his mom she hasn't had to work since he started his NBA career - he wants to take care of her.
Tyronn Lue has been through a lot and his now-famous stepover by Allen Iverson during Game One of the 2001 NBA Finals is no exception. However, the positive change that came out of it is that Lue's mother hasn't had to work since he began his NBA career. On The Pivot podcast, Lue shared his journey to the NBA and how it allowed him to provide for his family. After moving to Kansas City, Lue's talent on the court earned him a full scholarship to Nebraska. As a Cornhusker, Lue and his team were crowned NIT champions in 1996. His college career was impressive, finishing with 432 assists, 1,577 buckets, 145 three-pointers made, and 154 steals. During the podcast, Lue also spoke about his financial adviser pointing out that he was spending too much money on family members. But Lue chose to ignore the advice because he wanted his family to be happy and successful. His 11-year NBA career was filled with two NBA championships with the Lakers and a head coach position with the Cavaliers. Watch the full interview below.
