Good news for all the animal lovers out there! Two tiger cubs with different appearances have been spotted together at the Similipal Tiger Reserve in Bhubaneswar. One of them has a normal phenotype while the other one has a pseudo-melanistic phenotype. The picture of these two big cats captured on a camera trap has been making rounds on the internet and has left everyone in awe.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief Wildlife Warden, Susanta Nanda, shared the pictures on Thursday and wrote, "Normal and pseudo-melanistic cubs of T18 spotted moving together at Similipal Tiger Reserve. It's like they are inseparable." The images were taken from a camera trap that was set up inside the reserve. Both the tigers can be seen walking side by side, with the pseudo-melanistic tiger's deep black stripes catching everyone's attention. People on social media have been applauding this rare sighting and have been commenting that these animals need to be protected at all costs.

This is not the first time such a sighting has been reported at Similipal Tiger Reserve. In January this year, four pseudo-melanistic tigers were captured on camera. After this, Susanta Nanda wrote to the National Tiger Conservation Authority, requesting for female pseudo-melanistic tigers to be brought in to create inbreeding and increase the population of this rare species. He also mentioned that these tigers usually stay in isolation, which is why there is a need for diversification. According to Union Minister of State for Environment, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, there are only 10 melanistic tigers in India, all of which are found in Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha.

It is truly a remarkable sight to see these two tiger cubs of different phenotypes roaming together at the Similipal Tiger Reserve. This is a testament to the conservation efforts being carried out at the reserve and shows the success of their initiatives. Let's hope that more and more of these rare tigers are spotted in the future and that they continue to thrive in their natural habitat. These majestic creatures are truly a national treasure and must be protected at all costs.
