Two new tartans were unveiled in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, to celebrate the city's history and culture.

Designer Araminta Birse-Stewart has unveiled two tartans at The Scottish Textiles Showcase, a boutique in Edinburgh. Her "Highlands at Dawn" and "Highlands at Dusk" designs were inspired by Scotland's skies. Birse-Stewart, founder and creative director of Araminta Campbell, stated that her motivation for the designs originated from her childhood holidays spent discovering the Highlands, with her new "Heritage" tartans basing on the "striking view" from her grandparent's property in the Highlands during sunrise and sunset. Araminta Campbell's company declared that the tartans on show illustrate the fresh Highland air and the presentation of colour over the stunning Scottish mountains at dawn and dusk, each bringing a special display of colour and abundance of nature. Every one of the colours employed in the tartans was obtained through natural plant dyes. Birse-Stewart mentioned that she selected The Scottish Textiles Showcase as the location to launch her designs since founding director Kitty Bruce-Gardyne and her team have always been "enthusiastic not only about Scottish textiles but also especially about the Araminta Campbell brand". Araminta Campbell has relocated to Duddingston, a turreted, gothic farmhouse on the Hopetoun Estate outside Edinburgh.
