Two individuals have been accused following an incident in Adelaide's inner north, where a man was reportedly both shot and stabbed. The commotion began when emergency services were summoned to Torrens Road in Renown Park at 8:30 in the morning on Thursday, after a concerned neighbor discovered the wounded man.
According to the police, the victim had suffered a stab wound to his torso and a gunshot wound to his leg. Thankfully, the injuries were deemed non-life-threatening and the 63-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment. After thorough investigation, authorities made their way to a residence in the nearby suburb of Virginia last night, where they apprehended a 29-year-old suspect.
Later that evening, officers also visited an address in Parafield Gardens and were able to arrest a 41-year-old man from Burton. The Virginia resident has been charged with blackmail, while the Burton resident faces various charges, including those related to firearms. Both suspects have been denied bail and are scheduled to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday for their respective hearings.
