Two adolescents have been taken into custody following a reported armed altercation that caused a lockdown at a shopping center in Adelaide yesterday. The next thing they knew, the security doors at David Jones were closed.
During the evacuation process, two shoppers were injured, including a 77-year-old woman who suffered a fracture after falling, and a teenage girl. In a recent update, the police have announced that two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested and charged with assault, affray, and aggravated robbery. Two expandable batons were also seized by the police.
The two teens are scheduled to appear in court later today. The investigation is still ongoing and the police are asking anyone with information to come forward. Despite the chaos and disruption caused by the incident, shops at Westfield Marion are set to open as usual today.
