Last night was a tragic one on the roads of NSW, as three separate car accidents resulted in two fatalities and five people injured on the Central Coast. The first incident occurred at 8:30pm when police were called to Empire Bay Road in Empire Bay. It was reported that two vehicles had collided head-on, both traveling in opposite directions.
To make matters worse, a 20-year-old woman who was driving one of the cars sadly lost her life at the scene. The other vehicle veered off the road and hit an embankment, trapping the female driver in her 30s. Luckily, Fire and Rescue NSW was able to free her and she was then treated by paramedics before being taken to the hospital in a serious condition. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic crash.
Further up the coast in Forresters Beach, another accident occurred at around 6:45pm. This time, a man lost his life when a sedan and a utility vehicle collided while traveling in opposite directions on The Entrance Road. The 53-year-old driver of the sedan was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. The 30-year-old driver of the utility and his 29-year-old passenger were both treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital in stable condition. The cause of this accident is also being investigated.
Moving inland to Gosford, a multi-car crash resulted in two people being injured. At around 10:30pm, four cars were involved in a rear-end collision on the Central Coast Highway near Racecourse Road in West Gosford. A 76-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition, while a 40-year-old woman was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other two drivers involved were fortunately unharmed. The investigation into this crash is still ongoing.
It's truly heartbreaking to hear about these tragic incidents on our roads. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and we hope for a speedy recovery for those who were injured. It's a reminder for all of us to always be cautious and responsible while driving, and to never take our safety for granted.
