After seven successful years as the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, Trevor Noah is set to venture into the podcast world. On June 20, 2023, Noah announced his collaboration with Spotify on his Instagram account.
"It's really exciting to be joining Spotify on a fun new adventure where we'll engage in interesting and meaningful conversations with some of the world's most fascinating people," Noah said in a written statement. "We'll also probably fix every single issue humankind has ever faced, so you definitely want to join us for every episode."
Spotify's Vice President and Head of Global Podcast Studios, Julie McNamara, has promised Noah's "signature humor and razor-sharp wit" will be displayed in the weekly show that will debut later this year. Although no release date has been specified, the podcast will be available on other platforms outside of Spotify.
Speaking to Variety, Noah said he's looking forward to the freedom that podcasting provides. He's excited to be able to do his show "anywhere in the world" and explore different topics without the restrictions of television.
