For his outstanding service, Pal was honoured with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, President Tatrakshak Medal, and Tatrakshak Medal for distinguished service. He was an alumnus of the Indian Naval Academy and had received professional training from institutions in India and the United Kingdom.
