In a recent announcement, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled the India Rankings 2024, a comprehensive evaluation system designed by the Ministry of Education in 2015. This initiative aims to recognize and celebrate the top-performing institutions in the country. As per the rankings, IIT Madras has maintained its position as the top engineering institute for the sixth year in a row, while the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore has been declared the best university for the ninth consecutive year.
Exciting news for the state of Bhubaneswar as three of its educational institutions have secured a position in the top 100 of the overall rankings. Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, and National Institute of Technology Rourkela have been placed at 24th, 28th, and 34th positions respectively. Additionally, Utkal University has been ranked 42nd in the top 50 Public University rankings, a remarkable feat in itself.
During the release event, Minister Pradhan highlighted the importance of rankings, ratings, and accreditation in the National Education Policy of 2020. He congratulated all the Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) that have excelled in the areas of teaching, innovation, research, and graduation outcomes, and have earned a well-deserved spot in the India Rankings 2024. Along with eight IITs, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University have also secured a place in the top 10 rankings.
The Ministry of Education has taken a commendable step in recognizing and promoting excellence in the field of education through these rankings. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the HEIs and their continuous efforts towards improving the quality of education in the country. Congratulations to all the institutions and we look forward to more such achievements in the future.
