The blistering heat and intense humidity have been wreaking havoc on the daily lives of citizens in the capital city. As the scorching sun beats down on the city, people are struggling to go about their usual routines. However, amidst this chaos, important events and protests continue to take place.

Recently, Speaker Surama Padhy, along with Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo and other dignitaries, came together to pay their respects to Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayan Dev on his death anniversary. The solemn observance took place in the Odisha Assembly, where the legacy of the late Maharaja was remembered and honored.

In another part of the city, the BJD party staged a protest at Master Canteen Square against the steep hike in fuel prices. The citizens, already struggling with the heat and humidity, joined the protest in solidarity, voicing their concerns and demands for relief. Meanwhile, at Rabindra Mandap, students from Utkal University of Culture put on a mesmerizing performance of the Greek tragedy "Oedipus".

The play was part of a national theatre festival organized by Bidyakanak Srujanusthana, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of our country. In a touching tribute to a former Odisha Chief Minister, Biren Mitra, people gathered at Biren Mitra Park in Cuttack to pay their respects on his death anniversary. The park, named after the late Chief Minister, served as a poignant reminder of his contributions to the state and its people.

Despite the challenging conditions, the city continues to thrive with its vibrant culture and determined citizens. These events and gatherings serve as a testament to the resilience and spirit of the people, who continue to honor their traditions and raise their voices for important causes.
