The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is organising a 'Lokshahi Din' on the third Monday of every month for the immediate settlement of individual complaints of citizens. This month, the 'Lokshahi Din' will be taking place on September 18.
The TMC officials have requested citizens to submit their statements 15 days in advance, that is before September 4, so that their complaints can be addressed in the 'Lokshahi Din'. They have asked citizens to submit their representations at the following places:
Circle 1 – Office of the deputy commissioner, Kalwa ward committee Office in Kalwa.
Circle 2 –
Circle 3 – Office of the deputy commissioner of Majiwada-Manpada under Manpada ward committee Office in Thane.
Recently, TMT Contract Conductors called off their August 21 strike after the intervention of the Transport Committee. Citizens have been advised to file their complaints during the 'Lokshahi Din' instead. Ravindra Manjarekar, public relationship officer of Thane, said, "Citizens should first file their applications during the Lokshahi Din. If no action is taken on the complaints filed during the Lokshahi Din, then the citizens can submit their representations before 15 days as per rules. They should submit their statements for Lokshahi Din to the concerned ward committee offices."
The TMC has also seen a rise in dog bite complaints. To ensure that citizens are able to get their complaints addressed efficiently, they should take advantage of the 'Lokshahi Din' and submit their applications before September 4. This will help ensure that their grievances are addressed in the 'Lokshahi Din' itself.
