The police in Bhopal have detained three minors who are suspected of having hacked a Class 10 student to death in Bag Sewaniya two days ago. The three have been sent to a correction home after being produced in court.
According to Bag Sewaniya police station house officer Amit Soni, the minors revealed during questioning that they had been assaulted by the deceased, Shubham Rajak, and his friends previously, resulting in an enmity between them. The minors, who belonged to Amrai, were traced by the police using CCTV cameras. The key accused, Jamil Khan, Arun, and another minor boy are still at large.
It appears that the accused had planned to take revenge on Rajak and his friends for the earlier assault. They arrived armed with weapons like rods, knives, stones, and belts. Unfortunately, during the assault which occurred on Friday night, Rajak sustained fatal injuries and was rushed to AIIMS where he was pronounced dead. Two of Rajak’s friends, Aditya Sankat and Vaibhav Sankat, were also injured.
SHO Soni reported that the detained minors used to work at a tiffin centre for a living. The investigation is still ongoing as the police search for the remaining suspects.
