Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar Wildlife Veterinary Research Institute and Kodagu University, jointly organized a one-day workshop on wildlife zoonotic diseases as part of World Zoonotic Diseases Day at the premises of the Kaveri Knowledge Center of Kodagu University. Speaking after inaugurating the event, he said that Zoonotic Day is celebrated on July 6 every year to create awareness about zoonotic diseases that spread between animals and humans.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop, Dr. M.C. Shivakumar, Director, Wildlife Veterinary Research Institute, Kodagu, said that One Health is a collaborative and integrated concept that recognizes the interrelationship between human health, animal health and environmental health. He said that the well-being of people is closely linked to the health of animals and the ecosystems they share.
