The Recording Academy is taking a bold step in investing in the future generation of music creatives and professionals through their groundbreaking program, Grammy Go. In collaboration with the renowned online learning platform, Coursera, the Recording Academy is launching a new creator-to-creator learning platform that will cater to the specific needs of both emerging and established members of the music industry. This innovative program will feature classes and coursework taught by esteemed members of the Recording Academy, including Grammy winners and nominees, who will share their personal experiences and insights as valuable lessons for participants.

The first course, "Building Your Audience for Music Professionals," is now open for enrollment as of Wednesday, April 17th. Led by the esteemed Joey Harris, an international music and marketing executive, and CEO of Joey Harris Inc., the course will also feature contributions from the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and five-time Grammy winner, Jimmy Jam, 10-time Grammy nominee Janelle Monáe, and three-time Grammy winner Victoria Monét. The aim of this course is to equip participants with the necessary skills to establish a strong brand presence and cultivate a dedicated fan base in the ever-evolving music industry.

Expressing his excitement for this new venture, Harris shared on his Instagram, "I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to create the curriculum and curate for the @RecordingAcademy's first-ever creator-to-creator online international music business specialization program, #GrammyGO on @Coursera! This is a next-level Music Business Master Class 2.0! I'm excited for you to learn from me, someone who has been in this industry for 28 years, and all that it takes in today's world to be a successful artist, manager, executive, and brand."

Continuing their mission to empower and educate, Grammy Go's second course, "Music Production: Crafting An Award-Worthy Song," focuses specifically on music production. Over the summer, aspiring music producers will have the opportunity to enhance their technological and audio skills through this course. Taught by the talented Carolyn Malachi, a Grammy-nominated artist and professor at Howard University, this course will also feature appearances from Grammy-winning producer CIRKUT, three-time Grammy winner Hit-Boy, celebrity vocal coach Stevie Mackey, five-time Grammy nominee and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr., and 15-time Grammy winner Judith Sherman. Pre-enrollment for this course opened on April 17th.

Marni Baker Stein, the chief content officer at Coursera, expressed her excitement about this collaboration, stating, "We are honored to welcome GRAMMY GO, our first entertainment partner, to the Coursera community. With these self-paced online specializations, aspiring music professionals all over the world have an incredible opportunity to learn directly from iconic artists and industry experts."

In addition to this groundbreaking program, the Recording Academy has also recently announced another exciting project in the works. Hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar is teaming up with the creative minds behind the hit show South Park to release a comedy film project. With these innovative initiatives, the Recording Academy continues to pave the way for the next generation of music creatives and professionals.
