On the Zombies front, the game will continue with the round-based version of the mode, on what has been described as one of the biggest maps ever. This map will also feature a transportation system similar to the one in Black Ops 2's TranZit mode. And for the first time, there will be an eight-player mode for Zombies, which may be linked to a classic mode where players start with just a pistol and have to find other weapons scattered around the map.
As for the development of the game, it's expected to be handled by Sledgehammer Games. With Treyarch working on this year's entry alongside Raven Software, and Infinity Ward reportedly working on the next Modern Warfare game, Sledgehammer is the only remaining developer who last helmed 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
