Great news for all the last-minute shoppers out there! Tesco has just made a major change to their online shopping deliveries, making it possible for customers to receive their essential groceries faster than ever before. Whether you're scrambling to host a last-minute get together, or simply forgot to do your grocery shopping, sometimes you just need your groceries right now.
In the past, if you couldn't make it to the supermarket, your only option was to order your groceries online and wait for a delivery slot. But now, Tesco is offering earlier same-day delivery slots that are at least four hours earlier than any other retailer. This means you can get your groceries delivered as early as 1pm, instead of having to wait until 7pm like before.
Not only that, but Tesco has also moved up their Click+Collect timings, so now you can pick up your groceries as early as 12pm. These new slots are available in over 400 stores, making it even more convenient for customers to get their groceries when they need them.
According to Tom Denyard, Tesco's Online managing director, "We are excited to have rolled out more same-day opportunities for customers to get an online slot, offering customers more spaces - and therefore more flexibility - than ever before. This allows them to book closer to their delivery or collection time and therefore improve our market-leading customer experience."
But how can you book one of these early same-day delivery slots? The good news is that the process is exactly the same as before. You just follow the same booking process online and the newly available slots will show up on the booking page. However, you do need to be a little organized if you want to take advantage of these convenient slots. In order to secure an early slot, you need to place your order by 8:45am on the day of delivery.
The best part is that there's no need to go to the store anymore. You can get your groceries delivered right to your doorstep, saving you time and hassle. But keep in mind that there is still a surcharge for same-day delivery - an extra £2 for home delivery and £1 for Click+Collect. However, if you're on the Anytime Delivery Saver plan or the Click+Collect Delivery Saver plan, you won't have to pay extra for these same-day slots. Unfortunately, those on the Off Peak plan or Pay As You Go will need to pay the slot price.
