Teens in Queensland will appear in court after a police officer was hurt in a suspected hit-and-run.
Today, two teenagers are set to appear in a Queensland court, facing multiple charges after a police officer was injured in a hit-and-run incident in Bundaberg yesterday. It all began when the police were conducting a routine check on an abandoned stolen vehicle near Cullen Street in Walkervale around 4pm. As they were going about their duties, a silver Subaru Forester drove past them.

According to reports, the driver of the Subaru allegedly drove towards the police officer after he signaled for the vehicle to pull over. This resulted in minor injuries to the officer's foot and chest. The brave officer was promptly taken to Bundaberg Base Hospital, where he has since been discharged.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the driver of the Subaru was a 19-year-old woman from Branyan. She has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, failure to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash, and possession of a drug utensil. She is scheduled to appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today.

The passenger of the vehicle, a 16-year-old boy from Kalkie, has also been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company and wilful damage. He will be appearing in the Bundaberg Children's Court today.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist.
