Teachers submit appeal to MLA Ponnann

Madikeri, Aug. 10: Teachers of Valmiki Adivasi Tribal Residential School met Chief Minister's Legal Advisor and Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna and submitted an appeal for resolution of their problems.

They met Ponnanna at the Vidhana Soudha office and drew his attention to the issue of salary hike and service security. More than 300 teachers have been working in various Maharishi Valmiki Adivasi Tribal Residential Schools in the state under honorarium and outsourcing for the last 22 years, and they requested that steps be taken to provide service security along with salary hike.
