Studio Museum Harlem announces new exhibits and podcast.
The Studio Museum in Harlem is thrilled to announce its exciting lineup of summer and fall exhibitions and programs! This year, we are proud to introduce our very first podcast, which will provide an intimate look into our permanent collection. Through candid conversations with the artists whose works have been recently acquired, listeners will gain exclusive insights into the diverse and influential artistic practices that have shaped our Museum. Currently, our permanent collection boasts six incredible artists, with more to be added in the future.

According to our press release, our podcast, titled "New Additions," aims to showcase the impact of these artists on the broader cultural landscape. We invite you to join us on our website or through popular podcast platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Google Podcasts to listen to these captivating dialogues free of charge. The podcast will debut on June 18, so mark your calendars and get ready to be inspired by these talented individuals.

But that's not all - we are also excited to announce the upcoming exhibition "Something in the Water: Expanding the Walls 2024," which will celebrate the culmination of our beloved teen photography program. This program, now in its 23rd year, provides a platform for young photographers to explore and define their artistic voices while fostering a sense of community. The exhibition, which will open on July 31, will feature the works of the 2024 participants and showcase their unique perspectives on photography, history, and community. Through the lens of the James Van Der Zee Archive, these talented teens will offer a glimpse into their day-to-day lives and the vastness of New York City.

From September 26 to February 2025, we will be presenting "Pass Carry Hold: Studio Museum Artists in Residence 2023–24" at MoMA PS1. This immersive exhibition, in collaboration with The Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1, will feature the creative visions of our current cohort of artists-in-residence. We are proud to have this multi-year partnership with MoMA, and we can't wait for you to experience the incredible works of these talented individuals.

Last but not least, we are thrilled to present "Projects: Tadáskía," a collaborative exhibition with MoMA that will run through October 14, 2024, at MoMA's street-level galleries. This exhibition will feature the stunning wall drawing and sculptures of Brazil-based artist Tadáskía. As the artist himself says, "the main character in the work is time," and we invite you to witness the beauty and complexity of his art. Don't miss the chance to see his unbound book, "ave preta mística mystical black bird," now on display at MoMA. Plan your visit and learn more on our website.

We can't wait to share these incredible exhibitions and programs with you this summer and fall. Join us as we celebrate the diverse and talented artists who have shaped and continue to shape our Museum and the cultural landscape. We'll see you soon at the Studio Museum in Harlem!
