It's an exciting week for Xbox fans as the Xbox Games Showcase featured some amazing games and a huge contender in the gaming world - Starfield. It’s been a long time since Microsoft has had something people can be genuinely excited about, and Starfield certainly fits the bill.
We’ve all played games like Skyrim and Fallout, so we know the basics of a Bethesda game - except this one lets you make cool spaceships and has graphics that don’t suck. People are already talking about Starfield being game of the year and it’s definitely a top contender for best non-Nintendo game. This is a huge step forward for Microsoft as the game is purely single-player, something they’ve been avoiding for the last several years.
Unfortunately, this enthusiasm has caused some people to attack Xbox, Bethesda, and Starfield in a way that’s never been seen before. I understand why PlayStation fans are feeling the pressure as Xbox has been no competition for them for over a decade and now they’re seeing some amazing games coming out. However, I’d like to encourage everyone to not belittle a game for trying to make an effort, just because it’s exclusive to one console.
I hope that Starfield will be treated fairly when it’s reviewed and that people won’t review bomb it or drag it down. If it’s game of the year, it’ll be a great example of how all three consoles are pumping out great games and will encourage Sony to make more effort. I'd love to see Playstation have their own Starfield.
So, let’s all be excited for Starfield and be sure to give it a fair chance when it comes out! It’s an amazing game and we should support the effort and hard work that’s gone into it.
