Sony announces new DLC and game mode for Ghost Of Yōtei in October, featuring a roguelike style of gameplay.

Sony recently made an exciting announcement for all the Ghost Of Yōtei fans out there. The popular game, which already received a major update earlier this year in the form of a co-op mode called Legends, is now getting even more DLC. This time, it's a story expansion that will take players on a thrilling journey through new landscapes and challenges.

And that's not all - there's also a new combat survival mode and a Complete Edition package to look forward to. The story expansion, titled Echoes Of Sekigahara, is set to release on October 1, 2026. According to the PlayStation Blog, it will feature a mix of present-day events and flashbacks to Atsu's time on the mainland.

Along with a previously unseen valley, players can expect new heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes, and other exciting extras. For those who prefer to play solo, the new single-player combat survival mode, Ghost Of Yōtei: Most Wanted, will also be available on October 1. This mode will challenge players to complete runs and earn new perks and unlock characters such as Oyuki and Nagato, in addition to Atsu.

But what about those who have yet to experience Ghost Of Yōtei? Fear not, as Sony has also announced a Complete Edition of the game, which includes the base game, Legends, and the two upcoming DLCs. This package will be available for purchase at £69.99.

And for those who already own the game, there's still something to look forward to. By purchasing the Complete Edition Upgrade for £11.99, players can access both the story expansion and Most Wanted mode when they release on October 1, along with other cosmetic extras from the Digital Deluxe Edition. But that's not all - there will also be some exciting freebies coming with the new DLCs.

A new patch will introduce the Beauty Of Yōtei mode, which offers a peaceful view of the game's environments, perfect for relaxation at home. Additionally, the patch will include some quality of life features such as the ability to keep the appearance of a preferred armor while using a different set's stats, and a high contrast accessibility option. As we eagerly await the release of these new additions, it's worth noting that Sony doesn't have any other major AAA titles planned for the Christmas season.

So perhaps the Complete Edition of Ghost Of Yōtei could be a great option for those looking for an engaging game to play during the holiday season. It's no surprise that Ghost Of Yōtei is already outpacing the sales of its predecessor, with 3.3 million copies sold within a month after its launch on October 2 last year.
