Snoop Dogg cancels celebration shows in support of Hollywood workers on strike.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of his legendary debut album, Doggystyle, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre had planned a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Scheduled over two nights, the show was set to take place on June 27 and 28, 2023. However, the pair had to postpone it due to the current Writer’s Guild of America strike.

The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists has also gone on a work stoppage and Snoop and Dre canceled their concerts to show solidarity with both unions as they fight their employers.

The Doggfather made an announcement on Instagram that they had to cancel the performances that were rescheduled for October 20 and 21, 2023. He said, “We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show. We stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal, and we can all get back to work.”

AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) is an acronym for the alliance. Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have been keeping themselves busy as they are reportedly putting the finishing touches on an upcoming project.

In the meantime, Snoop Dogg and E-40 have also released a cookbook titled Snoop Dogg Presents Goon with the Spoon. It will be published by Chronicle Books and will feature more than 65 recipes from the two businessmen. This book is a follow-up to Snoop’s From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen.

Snoop made an initial announcement of the postponement on Instagram in June. He is looking forward to the day when he and Dr. Dre can perform at the Hollywood Bowl and has faith that the unions will get back to work soon.
