Lily Allen, the renowned singer, recently had a frightening experience with a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). As she kicked off the new year, she shared a surprising update with her fans about the alarming near miss. After the success of her comeback album, the 40-year-old Lily has been taking a break and enjoying some relaxation time before her upcoming tour.
During her January break, she posted several photos of her sunbathing and enjoying her vacation, including one of her car with visible scratches and scraped paint. Lily humorously commented, "Could have done without an HGV running me off the road, but other than that, a relatively good start to 2026." Her black Porsche had silver scratches on the driver's side, and she joked about being happy to be alive and not posting any photos from 2016.
Lily has come a long way since her days of struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and being in a troubled marriage with Sam Cooper. After their divorce in 2018, she began dating David Harbour. Her famous friends showed their support, including influencer Sam Morris, who playfully asked, "Does Madeline drive an HGV?" The reference to Lily's comeback album, "Madeline," which revealed the breakdown of her marriage to the "Stranger Things" actor.
Aside from her near miss with an HGV, Lily's holiday photo dump also serves as a reminder that her UK tour is just around the corner. Her lyrics in "Madeline" raise questions about who the woman her partner is secretly playing tennis with, among other things. After the album's release, Natalie Tippett came forward and revealed that she was the woman mentioned in the song, and Lily used her private messages as lyrics. Natalie denied having a three-year affair and spoke out against the weaponization of women for the actions of men, especially in an open relationship.
According to Lily's lyrics, she felt uncomfortable with the arrangement between her partner and Natalie, but she was trying to make her marriage work. Natalie stated, "I'm aware of the repercussions of speaking out on this may cause, but I can't imagine anything worse than what's already been said, as well as having to watch someone profit off painful lies." She also reminded her followers that she is a single mother to a young daughter.
Despite the controversy surrounding her personal life, Lily's career is thriving. She is set to star in a West End play and has a massive tour planned with 23 dates in the spring. She will also be headlining at the Bilbao BBK festival and Mighty Hoopla in the summer.
