I have a passion for astronomy that has been burning bright for over 25 years. I love nothing more than gazing up at the night sky and taking in all the celestial wonders that it has to offer. Every time there is a meteor shower or any other exciting event, I make sure to be there, ready to witness it all.
This year, I decided to share my love for stargazing with my family. I invited my brother-in-law and his wife to join my husband and me for a meteor shower viewing. We all have campers, so I took the liberty of making reservations and paid the deposit for two spots.
I was looking forward to spending a night under the stars with my loved ones, but unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. My brother-in-law and his wife arrived late, and by the time they got there, all the prime viewing spots were taken. We ended up having to squeeze into a less than ideal spot, which took away from the experience.
Despite the less-than-perfect circumstances, we still managed to make the most of the evening and enjoy the meteor shower. But I couldn't help feeling disappointed that my brother-in-law and his wife didn't seem as enthusiastic about the event as my husband and I were.
I understand that not everyone shares the same interests, but it would have been nice if they had made more of an effort to arrive on time and show some enthusiasm. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I couldn't help but feel a little let down.
I'm not sure if I should talk to them about it or just let it go. I don't want to cause any tension in our family, but I also don't want to feel like my efforts to share my passion were unappreciated.
