Veteran actress Shabana Azmi had the honour of hoisting the Indian flag at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023. The Indian Tricolour was proudly displayed against the Melbourne skyline, stirring up strong feelings of patriotism and unity that resonated with all those present.

The award for Best Performance in Film was presented to Mohit Agarwal for his role in 'Agra'. 'Sita Ramam' was announced Best Film, with 'Agra' awarded Best Indie Film. Kannada Filmmaker Prithvi Konanur was recognised with Best Director. Vijay Varma for 'Dahaad' and Rajshri Deshpande for 'Trial By Fire' were named Best Performance and Best Performance in a series respectively. Finally, period drama 'Jubilee' starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Sidhant Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ram Kapoor was tagged Best Series.
