Serious accident as military aircraft crashes during departure in Wales.

According to multiple witnesses, a Royal Air Force jet has crashed in RAF Valley, Wales, resulting in a declared 'major incident'. The Hawk T2 training jet went down after takeoff this afternoon in Anglesey, but fortunately, both crew members were able to eject safely. It is reported that an air ambulance has been dispatched to the scene, and fire crews are also present.

Eyewitnesses described seeing the jet take off, but noticed something unusual as it began to ascend. One witness, speaking to North Wales Live, shared their account of the incident, saying, "We watched it climb, but then it started to pitch up violently twice. Suddenly, both pilots ejected and the Hawk crashed about a mile away." These details were corroborated by other witnesses who saw the event unfold.

The current condition of the two pilots has not yet been confirmed, but it is reassuring to know that they were able to eject safely. Metro has reached out to the Ministry of Defence for more information on the incident. On social media, witness Pete Bennett shared, "Just witnessed a RAF Hawk crash after takeoff, but both pilots were able to eject safely." Another witness, Donna Jones, described seeing a huge cloud of black smoke in the distance, speculating that a jet may have gone down.

The Hawk T2 fighter jets are used for advanced jet training, as stated by the Royal Air Force, in order to prepare pilots for complex and challenging tactical environments. RAF Valley is the base for No. 4 Flying Training School, where the UK's fighter pilots undergo training to operate these jets.
