Self-Employment Awareness Programme Held in Bittangala

Virajpet, Oct. 9: A self-employment information program and a 'Farmer Field School' program were successfully conducted at the Bittangala Community Hall, organized by the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) – B.C. Trust (Regd.), Virajpet Taluk and Zone. Radha, who participated as a resource person and spoke about self-employment, stated, "Unemployment is not a problem; there are numerous avenues for those willing to work. I have achieved success by undertaking self-employment activities from home, such as mushroom farming and the production of various food items, pickles, and spice blends. There are ample opportunities for rural women to engage in such work."

Speaking on the occasion, Sudha, an entrepreneur, shared her experience of starting a self-employment venture with financial assistance from the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) and earning significant profits.

Ponnamma, Treasurer of the Bittangala Federation, noted that there are hundreds of employment opportunities available to people in rural areas, and these must be utilized effectively. She remarked that the training provided by the Rural Development Project is extremely beneficial to them.

Agriculture Supervisor Vasanth, Service Representative Sabitha, CSC Service Provider Lovely, association members, and local villagers attended the event in large numbers.
