Invitations have been extended to those who wish to pay their respects to the former RAF Flight Sergeant.

It is thought that Mr Brown was single with no children when he passed away in December 2020.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has called for the nation to back the campaign to find any long-lost relatives before the funeral on March 29.

It is reported that Peter Brown left Jamaica at age 17 to volunteer in the war against the Nazis.

After undergoing training in Canada, he joined the RAF in September 1943 and became a specialist wireless operator and air gunner.

He flew operations in Lancaster bombers and was posted to RAF Scampton.

Additionally, he served in Palestine, Tripoli, Egypt and Malta until his departure from the forces in 1950.
