Rotary Club Honours Five Teachers with ‘Nation Builders Award’

Somwarpet, Oct. 4: Five teachers were presented with the 'Nation Builders Award' at a function organized by the local Rotary Club at Rotary Bhavan.

The teachers honored with the award were H.S. Rajappa (Masagodu Government Higher Primary School), S.S. Ranjini (High School Teacher, Aigur Government Pre-University College), H.K. Malathi (Gopalapura Government Primary School), and Shobha (Kiraganduru Government Model Primary School).

Speaking on the occasion, award recipient H.S. Rajappa commended the Rotary organization—which is engaged in social service globally—for recognizing and honoring teachers. He noted that the organization, having played a pivotal role in polio eradication, renders significant service by utilizing a portion of its own resources without seeking profit. He expressed hope that the Rotary organization would continue to strive towards building a better society.

Teacher Ranjini remarked that the act of identifying and honoring teachers without requiring them to submit applications serves as a true mark of respect for the teaching profession. She also recalled that the organization had previously conducted science training workshops across the taluk. He stated that continuing this would greatly benefit the students. B.S. Sundar, President of the Rotary Club, presided over the event.
