Restrictions lifted in Leh, schools and shops can now reopen.
Leh: After the recent violent clashes on September 24, which resulted in the unfortunate loss of four lives, the situation is slowly returning to normal. In light of this, the authorities have announced that all schools up to Class 8 will be allowed to reopen from Friday.

However, it is important to note that the prohibitory orders, which prohibit the gathering of five or more people, must be strictly followed. This was emphasized in an official order released by the authorities.

The order stated, "It is hereby directed that all shops and schools up to Class 8 in Leh district will resume operations, and small buses will be allowed to operate between 10 am and 6 pm on October 3. However, this is subject to strict adherence to the restrictions outlined in Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita."

The order was issued by Assistant Commissioner Shabbir Hussain, in accordance with the instructions of the district magistrate. It is reassuring to see that the situation in the district is slowly getting back on track. This was evident when the curfew was relaxed for seven hours on September 30, and the duration was gradually increased on Wednesday and Thursday.
